The system behind the course

Built on the Tactical Combative System.

The curriculum is adapted from the same Tactical Combative System Ali co-founded and uses with police, federations, and adult students worldwide — re-engineered, lesson by lesson, for kids 5 to 13 to practice safely at home.

Why this matters

Bullying is the problem. This is the response.

Most kids will face bullying — verbal, physical, or online. The skills that prevent it, end it, and protect a kid's confidence can be taught. The research backs it up. So does Ali's classroom.

1 in 4
children worldwide are victims of bullying.
We teach the calm, the awareness, and the action that change the pattern.

#1
Verbal bullying — name-calling, insults, threats — is the most common form children face.
Module 02 teaches the exact phrases that interrupt the script. Drilled until they come out naturally.

57%
of the time, bullying ends within 10 seconds when someone steps in with the right action.
That is exactly what we teach. The awareness, the decision, the action — practiced until automatic.

The teaching philosophy

A kid who handles bullying doesn't need to win the fight.

They need the calm to sit inside the moment, the words to shut it down, and the confidence that comes from knowing they could handle it physically if they had to. That is what every lesson is being built to teach.

The full course outline

20 lessons. 4 weeks. One clear path.

The Champion Quest is a structured 4-week anti-bullying program — 20 self-paced video lessons of about 6 minutes each, built directly on the Tactical Combative System. Roughly 2 hours of video plus written recaps, drills, and quizzes — about 3 hours of total learning, paced as 15 minutes, three times a week, all done at home with a parent.

01

Spot the bully before it starts.

Threat detection — adapted for kids. Recognising bullying behaviour early in the hallway, on the bus, in a group chat. How bullies pick targets, and the signals that move a kid out of the target zone.

What changes after this module: kids notice trouble building before they're in it.
Threat detection
02

Stand like a kid who doesn't get bullied.

Safe posture. The stance, eye contact, voice tone, and walk that bullies skip over. Practised as daily habits — not techniques to remember in a crisis.

What changes after this module: kids look and sound like the kind of kid bullies leave alone.
Safe posture
03

Hold your space.

Safe distance. Reading personal-space signals, recognising when a situation is closing in, and the small movements that keep kids out of arm's reach until they're safe.

What changes after this module: kids stay out of grabbing range — and know exactly when to step back.
Safe distance
04

The words that shut bullying down.

Communication and de-escalation. The exact phrases and tone that interrupt a bully's pattern. Verbal scripts rehearsed until they come out naturally — even when a child is upset, surprised, or in a group.

What changes after this module: kids handle most bullying situations with words alone.
Communication & de-escalation
05

If it gets physical — escape, don't fight.

Physical defense. A small set of high-percentage techniques from the Tactical Combative System to disengage, create distance, and walk away safely. Drilled until kids can do them tired, scared, or surprised. Built around escape, never around winning.

What changes after this module: kids have a plan if a situation goes physical — and the confidence that comes from knowing it.
Physical defense
06

The parent coaching guide.

A step-by-step guide for parents to practise with kids between lessons. Includes scripts for the hardest conversations — what to ask after a tough day at school, how to follow up without making it bigger, when to talk to the school.

What changes after this module: parents have the words too — for the moments that matter most.

A note from Ali.

For nearly a decade, the work I'm proudest of has been with kids — programs at academies and federations across two continents. Clear Self-Defense is that work, distilled into a self-paced video course any parent and child can do together at home.

What you should know before you join the waitlist:

I do not teach kids to fight. I teach them to read situations, hold their ground, and walk away.
The whole point is that the child never has to use a physical technique.
Parents practice with kids. This is not a drop-off program.

Common questions

What parents ask before signing up.

It's an anti-bullying course first. Self-defense is the method, not the goal. Most modules are about awareness, body language, and verbal scripts — the skills that handle 80% of bullying situations without anything physical ever happening. The physical techniques are the last resort, taught for the cases when nothing else works.
Self-paced prerecorded video lessons that stream from any device — phone, tablet, laptop, or smart TV. There are no live classes, no scheduled times, no app to install, and no travel. Families log in to their account, pick a lesson, and watch. Pause, rewind, and repeat as many times as needed.
The Champion Quest is the 4-week structure of the course — 20 video lessons of about 6 minutes each, plus written recaps, drills, and a quick quiz at the end of every lesson. Roughly 2 hours of video and 3 hours of total learning, paced as 15 minutes, three times a week. Kids advance through five awareness levels (white, yellow, orange, red, champion) and earn a collectible Champion Card at the end of each lesson. By week four, they've completed all 20 cards, signed the Champion Pledge, and built the awareness habit.
Kids 5 to 13. Lessons are age-banded — younger children focus on confidence, awareness, and verbal scripts; older children add the physical defense module. The same parent coaching guide covers both bands.
No. The course is anti-bullying, not pro-fighting. The aim is for kids to never have to use a physical technique — and to have the confidence and skill if there is no other option. Every physical technique is about disengaging and escaping safely, not winning.
For ages 5 to 9, a parent should follow along. The parent coaching guide makes this easy and only adds about ten minutes per session. From age 10, kids can largely follow on their own with a parent check-in once a week.
Nothing. The course is built around what families already have at home. Some lessons use cushions or a yoga mat for soft falls — borrowed from the couch is fine.
The Tactical Combative System is the self-defense and combatives system Ali co-founded. It is taught to police units, federations, and adult students worldwide. The course curriculum is adapted from this system — re-engineered, lesson by lesson, into an anti-bullying program safe and appropriate for kids 5 to 13.
